But while Private Listening is a game-changer for late-night movie marathons, there is a "gotcha" that every power user should know about to ensure a seamless experience.

The "Midnight Wake-Up" Problem

When you enable Private Listening by clicking the MODE button, the TV audio is redirected to your computer. However, if your computer accidentally disconnects from the network, or if you click the MODE button again to turn it off, the TV will automatically resume audio playback at its previous volume level.

If you were watching an action movie at 2 AM with headphones, and the connection drops, your TV might suddenly blast audio at volume 30, waking up the entire house. Nobody wants that.

Why this works:

• Safety Net: If you disconnect, the TV remains muted. No sudden loud noises.
• Total Control: You can adjust your computer volume (using your keyboard or the Windows taskbar) for your headphones, while the TV's hardware volume stays at zero.
• Seamless Exit: When you are finished, you can safely turn off Private Listening and unmute the TV when you're ready for "public" listening again.
